In Memoriam

One of the downsides of being a publisher already for 64 years is that inevitably we have to mourn the deaths of authors and colleagues, and recently, we have been saddened by three such losses.

Over the weekend, it was Howard Kendall, the legendary Everton player and winning Manager, whom we published. There were also obituaries for colleagues like Barbara Brecht, the daughter of Bertold Brecht, whose Obie-winning Brecht production we presented in London, and the extraordinary Carmen Balcells, the Spanish Literary Agent whom I knew for over 50 years, who changed the world publishing scene for Spanish and Latin American writing.

R.I.P – it was good to have known you all and worked with you.
